Trestleboard ASHLER LODGE October 2011 Greetings from the East, Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our last stated meeting in September to help celebrate Past Masters Night. It was an absolutely incredible event with 17 Past Masters including past Deputies of the Grandmaster and a Past Grandmaster. The main highlight of the evening was enjoying a public presentation to honor Past Masters of Ashler Lodge including WB Bill Yaguchi who entered the Celestial Lodge above this past year. We were honored to have Bill’s daughter Kathy and son-in-law Mas Yamamoto join us for dinner and the evening’s presentations to share memories of WB Yaguchi and his many contributions to Ashler Lodge. Kathy and Mas thanked the Lodge for being there for Bill and his family and we look forward to future gatherings with them as part of our larger Masonic family. On October 20th, we will have our stated meeting and hold elections for officers of Ashler Lodge for 2012. At the beginning of the month, Brothers Gary McPherson and Darin Velin both attended the District 2’s Wardens Conference in Leavenworth to develop and learn how to use tools for success in lodge management. I am delighted to say that our Lodge enjoys both a strong line of officers and active brothers who bring much strength to our fraternity. If you know someone who has approached you asking about Masonry, be sure to bring them to dinner before the stated meeting as your guest or Fellowship Night on the Saturday after our stated meeting. Thank you for all your help with the Lodge to make it the best Lodge it can be. It’s a great day to be a Mason! Fraternally, Chris Haynes Worshipful Master chrishaynes206@gmail.com Greetings from the West, Hello Brethren, The Ashler Lodge year is quickly coming to an end. It has been a whirlwind full of fellowship, learning, and active participation in our community. I couldn't be more proud of the brethren and all we've accomplished this year. To that end I want you to know that we are actively planning for the future. In early October, Brother Gary McPherson and I attended the District 2 Wardens/Deacons retreat. Seven officers from our district got together for a weekend of fellowship, learning and food (not necessarily all in that order!). The district Education team put together a great program to help teach us important elements of working with, and leading, a lodge. I'm so thankful for the interest and care everyone has taken in making sure all our lodges are set up for success. District 2 is really "second to none"!
