Trestleboard           ASHLER LODGE          May 2012

Greetings from the East,

Thanks for all who could attend our April meeting. We had a packed agenda and a packed house and thanks to the many brethren from District 8 who chose to attend. Two new brothers joined the lodge and we read another petition. I’m also in contact with two others that are interested in joining the lodge. It is a great time to be an Ashler Mason!

Sadly, we lost Bro John Bluhm this month. We conducted a memorial service in our stated communication and had a funeral team perform the public memorial service for his family. He will be missed.

Don’t forget that our May meeting will feature an informal visit from our Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother Michael Sanders.

We will be testing out the digital communication channel over the summer, making way for our Trestleboard to go electronic.  Please make sure we have your email—contact us at AshlerSecretary@frontier.com.

Greetings from the West,

Spring is here and that is time for Rainbows!  For those who missed the April meeting we had an excellent presentation from our Rainbow girls.  I am always impressed by the quality of our youth groups and encourage all of you to support our youth by attending a meeting.

On the book club front we will be reading “The Better Angels of Our Nature: Freemasonry in the American Civil War”.  It looks like a fun and interesting book.  The plan is to have it read and meet for dinner at the lodge before Education night on June 7th.  Everyone is welcome to join us for what I am sure will be a lively discussion.

Greetings from the South,

Greetings from the South, Brethren. Special thanks to our wonderful little Rainbows for what I was told was an excellent meal of Roast beef, garlic mashed potatoes, veggies, chocolate covered strawberries and brownies for dessert (making my mouth water as I type this).

This month, for our Mother's Day meal we currently have a pot luck planned so stay tuned for further announcements on the Facebook page as well as our other information outlets. We look forward to seeing you all at the May meeting for excellent food and better fellowship!
