Trestleboard           ASHLER LODGE          March 2014

Greetings from the East,

Another fabulous meeting this last month with (insert number here) brothers in attendance, including our very own District Deputy, VW Richard Beers. We also got to welcome our newest brother, Kaeden Bodyfelt, to his first official meeting.

Unfortunately, as has been too common, we also read the scrolls of Bro. David DeLaPena, WB Don McKillup and WB Francis Chantiny and performed their memorial ceremony. However, we also read the petition of Mr. Doron Cedrici and hope to be balloting on him by next meeting. We also received two first time petitions so we will be busy with degree work in the coming months.

The Treasurer’s Report was as usual: “We have money, WM.”

The reports on our youth groups were very favorable, especially the Rainbow’s and Jobies, with each initiating droves of new girls and the DeMolay getting help from the girls with recruiting. WB Gary McPherson is working feverishly to set-up the “District 2 Youth Appreciation Night” but we are having a little difficulty settling on a date with the youth groups being so active. We do know it will be held at Shoreline Lodge and probably near the end of May.

The reports of degree progress were also favorable with many brothers reengaging with their mentors to get proved up and move on.

As per usual, we have been very active with our ‘Bikes 4 Books” program by donating 4 more to the Sno-Isle Library System. There will also be a bike presentation at Maywood Elementary on April 8th,before school, for any brothers that would like to attend. Maywood was our first school and we are up to 4 regular schools per year and our donations to Sno-Isle and we hope to expand this to even more by next year.

The end of the meeting was presided over by our District Deputy, VW Richard Beers, who, as always, provided wise counsel to us in our Masonic and everyday lives. He also performed a nearly flawless closing (even if there was a touch of rust). As always, there is plenty to do if you want to make it to any of our events or meetings. If you need a ride, pelase let one of us know and we are happy to accommodate.

Greetings from the West,

It sure has been a great month and it seems like it went so fast as we are busy as ever. I should start out paying wages as there are so many. Great wages go out to our awesome Rainbow Girls for the wonderful dinner they made and served before our last stated. We sure do enjoy seeing them all and having them come sit down with us to eat. Such a great way to get to know them better. We initiated another Brother and welcomed him in. Welcome Brother Jody Bossert. Wages to all our great Brothers who helped in the degree team as the team performed an awesome degree as per usual, also to those Brothers who came to welcome Jody. A great night was had. It looks like there will be several EA degrees coming up in the real near future and I am sure several FC degrees as I see all are busy. I want to say thank you to those Brothers that are coaching those who are advancing up as we would be lost without you. Such a great way to help in the lodge. I know there are so many Brothers that do things in the lodge to help for the betterment that we don’t see, thank you to you all as you help make things run so smoothly. There are so many things going on in our great lodge that it never ends. If you are wondering how you can get involved and help we always work better as a whole so just come in or give us a call. I plan to get out to other lodges both in and out of our district so anyone who wants to join me all are welcome. The more the merrier.

Greetings from the South,

I want to say thank you to the Rainbow girls for serving an excellent chicken dinner and a delicious desert. They totally outdid themselves with that meal. The desert was amazing. Several brothers got to take some home it was that well received. It is nice to see the Youth Groups out in full force and willing to serve us. It makes coming to dinner for fellowship that much easier less stressful. For the March Stated meeting, we will be having our annual corn beef and cabbage meal served by the Rainbows I would also like to say it is great to see some of the Brethren who have not been able to attend lodge back in Lodge. If you know a Brother that needs a phone call or a letter or an email, let me know. I want to make sure that all of the brethren get some sunshine from us.
