Trestleboard           ASHLER LODGE          February 2013

Greetings from the East,

What a wonderful Grand Master’s visit we had.  I would like to thank everyone who turned out, and especially my officers who did an outstanding job that night.

Things are starting to ramp up quickly.  We have committees set up for Bikes for Books, Music in the Park, Street Clean up, 4th of July Parade, CHIPS, Masonic Open House and Lodge interior design.  If you have strong feelings about any of these please show up to our February Stated meeting.  I am sure the committee chairs would love the support.

The February stated meeting is our Sweetheart night.  The Rainbow girls will be cooking a meal and presenting a short program.  Dinner will start at 6:30 and then after the presentation the Ladies can retire to the dining hall for coffee talk with Paula.  It should be a wonderful night.

On February 16th Paula and I will be assisting the Rainbow Assembly there fundraiser.  It will be a traditional Brazilian Feijoada.  It should be a lot of fun.

Greetings from the West,

Wages must be paid to all of the brothers who participated in our chili competition and, although he is not yet a brother, special wages to our winner, Kristopher DiGiulio JR.  I must also pay special wages to WB Chris Haynes for filling in for me at a moment’s notice.  As usual, our brothers come to the aid of others.  We have long cable tows.  And, although I was not there to participate, I must commend all of you for affording another great visit to the Most Worshipful Brother of Washington.  I am proud to be a part of such a great lodge!  Wages to you all!  Brother Dan, please make sure they are temperate with my praise.

Fraternally,

Greetings from the South,

Well our Chili Cook Off was another great success this year. We had many great entries and with the new small bowls we used I as I hope you all were able to try them all. What a great night along with the Grand Master’s visit and all the Brothers visiting, I had a great night of fun. I hope you all enjoyed both the food and the great sense of Brotherhood spread by all.

With the theme of brotherhood in mind one needs to ask themselves how long it’s been since we have visited another brother? Have we been to visit him in his lodge, his home as maybe he can’t get out to see us? I hear great stories of just that happening and know the good it does us all. I so enjoy going to visit fellow lodges. Am trying to get out even more especially out of my comfort zone and picking lodges I have never been or met. Who wants to get out with me, let’s make a caravan?
