Trestleboard ASHLER LODGE February 2012 Greetings from the East, If the recent snow/ice storm that forced us to cancel our January Stated Communication taught us anything, it is we need to be able to communicate quickly with our Brethren. To that end one of the projects I want to complete this year is the creation of an email list for all our Brethren that have an email account. This will allow us to quickly communicate out information on upcoming events and changes to events, as well as provide us a new way to deliver this Trestleboard—saving us money on postage and allowing us to expand content and possibly add in pictures! To get us started, please make sure we have your email—contact us at AshlerSecretary@frontier.com . Fraternally, Darin Velin Worshipful Master ddvelin@hotmail.com 425.890.3771 Greetings from the West, I would like to take this opportunity to pay wages to the wonderful youth groups who meet at the Ashler Masonic center. If you have a chance to stop by the kitchen please check out the new stoves donated to the Lodge by our Rainbow girls, and if you get a chance please stop by and thank the girls at one of their meetings. They meet at 6:30 the first and third Wednesday of every month. I try to make all of their meetings so please join me in supporting these great young ladies. I would like to thank Brian Frisbie for his commitment to work with the DeMolay. The DeMolay enjoy having a Mason at their meetings, and having a Brother to relay information between the Lodge and the youth groups goes a long way to fostering the kind of relationship between the Lodge and youth that we should have. Please let’s not forget the Job’s Daughters. I am constantly impressed by these young ladies. In addition to their help at music in the park, they have also been involved at all of our CHIPs events for as long as I have been in the Lodge. When you get a chance, do yourself a favor and join them for one of their meetings, I am sure you will be impressed. Fraternally, Gary McPherson Senior Warden gary@mc-pherson.com Greetings from the South, Well, I hope after last month's bludgeoning with the snow, and the unfortunate cancellation of our stated meeting, this month's Trestleboard finds you all well. The public outcry from brothers everywhere has resulted in us rescheduling our world famous chili cook-off to February which will coincide with our "Sweetheart" month. OK, so maybe "world famous" is a little overstated but I'm pretty sure the ladies will enjoy our fabulous chili as much as we will. So, again, dust off those chili recipes (and cornbread if you must) and join us at the lodge for some fabulous food and fellowship.
