Trestleboard ASHLER LODGE April 2012 Greetings from the East, Spring is a time for renewal, and we are renewing the ranks of our lodge! We just raised Bro Tracey Baxter to a MM, and will be initiating a new brother on April 12. We will also be balloting on 2 petitions in our April meeting. Dust off your standard work, learn a part and get involved. Any officer is happy to have a MM step in and help confer a degree. We are also getting ready for our summer programs, namely the 4th of July Parade and Music in the Park. WB Chris Haynes is heading up the float this year, and Bro Gary McPherson is running Music in the Park. These programs are a lot of fun and a great way to interact with the community. Come out and join us! We are continuing with our plan to transition to a digital Trestle Board. There will be email sign-up sheets again at our next meeting. Please make sure we have your email—contact us at AshlerSecretary@frontier.com. Fraternally, Darin Velin Worshipful Master ddvelin@hotmail.com 425.890.3771 Greetings from the West, This month I need to pay wages to all of the Brothers in Ashler Lodge, especially the officers, past and present. This month Brothers Kaltenbach, Southerland and I went to the annual Wardens Conference, in Pasco Washington. It was an interesting weekend and much was learned, but one of the things I was most impressed with was the condition of our Lodge as opposed to Lodges in our State. There are many Lodges struggling with membership, fundraising and even being able to keep their building. Thanks to the Brothers who came before us, we have a wonderful building. In our building we have paying tenants so we don't have to worry about fundraising. And the traditions of excellence and fellowship passed down from Brother to Brother make our Lodge a true jewel to behold and an honor to be a member. Fraternally, Gary McPherson Senior Warden gary@mc-pherson.com Greetings from the South, I, too, would like to say thank you to Bro. Gary and Bro. Dan for an outstanding Warden’s Conference. We had a fun time traveling and the conference was chock full of some great information that we can use for this year and the coming years. Now, on to the good stuff. We have come from our world famous chili cook-off to our world famous corned beef and cabbage to this month’s hearty Rainbow Surprise served up, of course, by our lovely little Rainbows Girls. I cannot guarantee that you will leave with your shoes but bring a couple extra bucks just the same. In any event, come and enjoy some good grub and great fellowship. Hope to see you there.
